Seminar papers and final thesis

On this page you will find information concerning academic writing and formal requirements that should support you in the preparation of a seminar paper, a bachelor’s thesis or a master’s thesis. You will also find information concerning the application process for writing a final thesis at the Department of Economic and Social Geography.

Bachelor’s thesis

The application process for a bachelor’s thesis at the Department of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Fuchs is organized via KLIPS. All information concerning the application and registration process via KLIPS can be found here.

For business administration students, participation in the bachelor's thesis seminar in Economic Geography is a mandatory requirement. Students from other disciplines who would like to write a bachelor thesis at the chair of Prof. Dr. Fuchs are strongly advised to (voluntarily) participate in the bachelor’s thesis seminar in Economic Geography as well.

Both the preparation of a bachelor’s thesis in the field of economic and social geography and the attendance of the bachelor’s thesis seminar in Economic Geography require basic knowledge of Economic Geography. Such knowledge can be obtained by attending one of the focus modules in Economic Geography. It is therefore strongly advised not to attend the bachelor's seminar without prior or simultaneous attendance of at least one of the focus modules in Economic Geography.

All students who apply for a bachelor's thesis at the Department of Economic and Social Geography are strongly encouraged to reach out to Prof. Dr. Fuchs during her office hours well in advance. For questions and discussions, please contact the Student Advisory Center of the WiSo Faculty or Johannes Westermeyer.

Master’s thesis

Students who would like to write a master's thesis at the Department of Economic and Social Geography, please contact Prof. Dr. Fuchs during her regular office hours to clarify details concerning requirements and thesis advisory.
